Last March 28-29, ICES members went to Utah to meet with Global Surgery students, leaders, teachers, and advocates for the Extreme Affordability conference- Multidisciplinary Solutions for Surgical Care hosted by the University of Utah Center for Global Surgery. Michael presented the case for the Global Need for Essential Surgery and how we at ICES believe that we must focus our efforts on providing surgical care in the most feasible and cost-effective way.
We presented a poster on a systematic review of all cost-effectiveness studies done on surgical procedures in low- and middle-income countries.
